Members Outing to the English Wine Project
In June 2022 our members visited the English Wine Project in Darley Abbey Mills in Derby, in place of our normal meeting at the Village Hall.
At the EWP Kieron Atkinson makes wine mainly from the vines he tends at Renishaw Hall in Chesterfield. On the evening his assistant Liam stood in for Kieron and showed the group the process of making, bottling and labeling the wine they make, along with special equipment they use to create sparking wine. Along with the wines from Renishaw Hall we also tasted 2 ciders that Kieron has made from apples sourced outside Derbyshire.
Below are a few photographs of the evening.
